TIPS & ADVICE
So, it’s time for your lash appointment and you are eager to be the proud owner of a beautiful set of lashes.
But before you go ahead, we have a very handy list of the 6 things your lash technician wants you to know before you lie down for a lash nap.
One. Wash your face.
Your lash technician will more than likely rinse and cleanse your eyes at the beginning of your appointment. However, if you turn up with mascara and eye-liner from the day before, you will eat into valuable lashing time, which means your lashes may not be as full and beautiful as they could be. It’s the same as a trip to the dentist. We bet that you clean your teeth before a trip to the dentist, right? Well the same goes for your lash appointment. Wash your face and remove all traces of make-up prior to your appointment so that your lash technician can spend more time doing what they do best.
Don’t get us wrong, A lash appointment is a brilliant time for a catch-up and therapy session and that goes the same for the lash technician. It can be a lonely job being sat at your beauty bed all day every day and socializing with clients does help. But did you know that when you talk, your eyelids move and flicker which can make application harder and therefore may affect the end result. So, don’t feel irked if your technician needs a bit of concentration time.
Three. Be on time.
This goes for being early as well as being late. If you turn up early and think you are helping your technician out, you are very wrong. The time lash technicians allocate themselves between appointments is sacred. It’s time to eat, drink, use the toilet and sort the washing (along with a handful of other jobs that they don’t have time to do in the day). On the flip side, being late can mean that it eats into the amount of time your lash technician has to do their job. Which may result in a less than full set of lashes, plus you will still have to pay full price!
Four. Share the love.
So if you are happy with your lashes, tell a friend, leave a review or post a picture on social media letting the world know how satisfied you are. Word of mouth goes a long way in a lash technicians world. So if you tell just one person, it could massively affect your lash technician and their business and it costs you nothing to do.Recommend a friend and get £5 off your next visit .
Five. Bigger, smaller, longer, shorter.
The opposite is also true. Not happy? Tell your lash technician! Don’t leave feeling deflated or unsatisfied. You are paying for the service and most of the time your technician will be able to explain what they have tried to achieve or even make adjustments. The technician wants you to be happy, so don’t feel like you need to keep quiet if you aren’t.
Six. Lashes never lie.
The key to long-lasting beautiful lashes is aftercare. Your lash technician should explain a list of do’s and don’ts which include, washing them daily, brushing them daily, don’t pull or pick at them, avoid oily products, avoid mascara etc. Now, when you turn up to your appointment and lie about how well you have looked after them, we are afraid to say, your lashes never lie! Your lash technician will be able to see EXACTLY how well your lashes have been looked after just by looking at them. And as you know, having dirty lashes means less time for applying new lash extensions (see point one).
So please, follow the aftercare guidelines as best you can, the quality of your lashes depend on it!
Now that you are aware of the basics. It’s time to go get some beautiful lash extensions!
